| Streaming Audio and Video on your website is a great way to
keep your visitors on your site longer and can help bring them back for
future visits. More traffic can mean more sales. A few things to keep in
mind when encoding streaming media on your website; 1. Streaming media
uses a lot of space and bandwidth which can be very costly to you, so use
only when needed. 2. Consider the connection speed of the "end
user" (your visitor), not everyone has a high speed connection to the
Internet and streaming media does not work very well on dial up
connections. 3. Limit the amount of streaming media you use on your
website as you are allotted only a certain amount of system resources at
any given time, exceed that limit and you degrade the performance of all
the other websites on your server. In a case where your website is using
more of the system resources than you are allowed your account can be
suspended or terminated. Flagrant misuse of the system resources
is prohibited. |
